Marie Beisel, MSN, RN, CPHQ, Sr. Project Manager
Marie Beisel is a Senior Project Manager at University of Michigan Health System, (UMHS) responsible for the Michigan Care Management Resource Center. Marie received her BSN from University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Alabama. She has many years of ambulatory care nursing experience including her prior role as Regional Nurse Manager in Ambulatory Care at the University of Michigan Health System. As a Nurse Manager she had a lead role working with RNs and health care teams at several UMHS primary care Health Centers to implement care management. Additionally, she was a Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist at University of Michigan and an Advance Practice RN in Medical Oncology at Emory University. She was employed 9 years at MPRO, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services designated Quality Improvement Organization for the state of Michigan, where she was Director for Quality Improvement in the Physician Office setting she was responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement programs at a statewide level.
Betty Rakowski, RN, MAEd Curriculum Designer
Betty is a BSN, RN with 19 years’ clinical experience in neonatal intensive care and toxicology at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters in Adult Instruction and Performance Technology degrees from the University of Michigan. She is an expert in all phases of Instructional Systems Design and Adult Learning Principles. Currently, she is serving as Curriculum Designer, involved in supporting program development, delivering training, and daily operations of the Michigan Care Management Resource Center.
Scott Johnson, RN, BBA, MSA Project Manager
Scott Johnson is a project manager with the Michigan care Management resource Center and supports Blue Cross Blue Shield’s High Intensity Care Model as well as some of the SIM PCMH Initiative. He is an RN of 18 years, with 14 of those years working in hospice and palliative care. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker College and a Masters in Service Administration from Central Michigan University.
Judy Avie, RN, BSN, M. Ed IT, Population Health Consultant
Judy Avie is a Population Health Consultant at the Michigan Care Management Resource Center. She is a registered nurse with a master degree in education. She has experience in HICM, quality improvement, program management, and informatics. She supports the HICM work at the CMRC.
Julie Wolf, Administrative Assistant
Julie Wolf is an administrative assistant at MiCMRC. She is responsible for administrative support of the HICM leadership team. Before joining MiCMRC, Julie has had experience as front desk support for an insurance agency and working in several departments at UM including a year in MiCRMC where she provided complex administrative support including events planning and preparation of training materials. Julie has over ten years’ experience in office administration, finance and accounts payable.
